What is a plant loader securer?
A plant loader securer is anyone that is required to load wheeled, tracked or roller machines and to safely securer them for transport. This is included in the TUPPCO NPORS Plant Loader Securer training course – N120
What does the TUPPCO NPORS Plant Loader Securer training course include?
- Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as an operator
- Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used and relevant legislation
- Be able to identify different types of transport, explain their purpose, the major components, basic construction, controls, and terminology
- Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturers and legislative requirements
- Conduct all necessary safety checks at the loading / unloading area
- Ensure that the transporter is correctly configured in readiness for loading and unloading
- Explain hazards that may exist in the work area and how to avoid them
- Agree a method of communication and use it
- Load or direct items of plant onto and off transport vehicle
- Arrange and secure items of plant on transport vehicle ready for transport on a public highway
- Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures

Theory assessment:
- 20 multiple choice questions
- 5 written questions
- 4 marks per question
- 80% pass mark required
Practical assessment criteria:
- Pre use and operational checks
- Set the transporter ready to receive a load
- Load and unload 1 x Tracked construction type machine
- Load and unload 1 x Wheeled construction type machine
- Load and unload 1 x compaction type machine
- Secure loads to confirm with machine and legislative requirements
- End of task and machinery checks
- Pass mark is less than 20 penalty points and no mandatory disqualifications
- Time allowed is 2 hours
