• Workplace experience using ride on rollers • CITB test for operatives with in 24 months

The candidate will be assessed on NVQ units relating to health and safety and machinery operation by means of

Mandatory core NVQ units:
• Conforming to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace
• Conforming to productive working practices in the workplace
• Preparing and operating ride on rollers to compact materials in the workplace

• Suitable and safe area to operate and manoeuvre machine
• Areas of uncompacted material
• Varying terrain and slopes
• Suitable and safe area to complete paperwork
• Suitable welfare facilities
• Road roller
• Operators’ manual
• Risk assessment completed

PPE Requirements

• Suitable head protection
• Suitable eye protection
• Suitable work clothes including wet weather
• Gloves
• Suitable work boots including steel toe protection
